I have a unique combination of technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
As an IT Manager in a 5-star hotel, I have developed strong expertise in managing critical projects, such as migrating our core Property Management System from on-premise to the cloud, or upgrading our telephone system. A project that required a year of preparation and coordination with several American, Greek, and German companies. I also led the migration of our credit card payment system to the cloud, which demanded an in-depth understanding of payment processing technologies.
I specialize in solving complex problems efficiently and, above all, quickly, ensuring seamless luxury service for our colleagues, individual guests, VIPs, and business groups. This includes handling crisis situations such as a cyberattack impacting hotel operations or a major power outage requiring immediate action.
Driven by an entrepreneurial mindset, I actively engage with experts to deepen my knowledge of cybersecurity and economics as part of my studies in Cybersecurity and IT Management.
Additionally, my experience as a firefighter has taught me to remain calm and decisive under pressure. Whether navigating through a burning apartment just meters from the flames or making critical decisions under pressure.
What makes me different ?
People know me for taking on a big responsibility as IT Manager in a 5-star hotel at the age of 24 years. I proved that I could be trusted to handle critical tasks and lead effectively, even at a young age.
What stands out is how I managed to oversee the entire IT infrastructure smoothly, early in my career. I’ve always been reliable, independent, and someone who knows how to build strong connections with the right people, which has been a big part of my success.
My ability to earn trust, solve problems, and use my network to get things done, no matter how challenging the situation, has often helped me overcome the most critical situations at Fairmont Hotels.
What am I known for ?
Who are my role models ?
My idols are people who are known for their ambition and perseverance in achieving success. I admire Jack Ma for his resilience in the face of setbacks, such as being the only one out of 24 people not hired by KFC, yet he is now one of the best-known businesspeople in the world.
I also greatly admire Tim Cook for his attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Under his leadership, Apple has focused not just on innovation but on perfect design and user experience. And that's what I do my best to apply to my family business, perfection.
What do I want to be known for ?
I want to be known as the person who proves that coming to a country where you don’t speak the language and being far from your family doesn’t have to stop you from achieving great things.
I want to inspire others by showing that with determination, resilience, and hard work, it’s possible to overcome any obstacle and go far in life.
Who should know about me ?
The people who should know me are companies with a large IT infrastructure, such as medium-sized or large companies like Philip Morris, Nestlé, UBS as well as recruitment firms.
What is my greatest professional achievement ?
My greatest professional achievement was the complete overhaul of the telephone system in a 5-star hotel, a project I managed from start to finish.
With no prior experience in this type of system, I first had to train myself to understand its technical aspects.
I then researched and compared different solutions based on features, reliability, and budget. This extensive analysis led me to exchange over 300 emails and coordinate the project over the course of a year, ensuring smooth communication between Accor headquarters, the owners, and the hotel management.
What kind of problems do I solve ?
I solve a variety of IT challenges, from security risks to operational inefficiencies:
Preventing security breaches: Since 95% of cybersecurity incidents result from human error (World Economic Forum), I focus on prevention. I conduct internal audits to identify vulnerabilities and provide regular training to employees, ensuring they adopt best security practices to protect company data.
Fixing complex IT issues: I handle technical challenges such as troubleshooting critical system failures, ensuring stable IT operations, and managing smooth migrations to modern cloud-based solutions.
My goal is to keep systems running efficiently with minimal downtime.
Reducing unnecessary costs: IT services can be costly if not properly managed. I analyze contracts with service providers to identify unnecessary expenses and negotiate better deals, ensuring an optimized IT budget while maintaining service quality.
Improving project execution: Some projects stall or lose direction due to poor planning or communication gaps. I step in to streamline processes, ensure clear objectives, and align teams so that projects stay on track and meet deadline.
Leading and managing teams: A strong team is key to success. I create a motivating and structured work environment, ensuring that employees are supported, engaged, and aligned with the company’s vision.
What are my areas of expertise ?
As an IT manager, I prevent cyber incidents, enhance the effectiveness of IT departments, and promote operational efficiency.
I conduct internal security audits to identify vulnerabilities and collaborate with technical teams or external partners to implement the necessary fixes. This approach highlights my ability to lead effectively and deliver tailored solutions. For example, I regularly organize in-house training sessions on IT security for broad audiences.
As a firefighter, I have also developed strong crisis management skills with fast response times—an essential quality for solving major problems in critical environments.
Another area is IT cost management. I have significant experience in planning hardware end-of-life renewals, reducing costs by eliminating unnecessary contracts, and implementing strategies to modernize infrastructure while optimizing expenses and ensuring business continuity.
What are my transferable skills?
Over the years, I have developed a strong set of transferable skills that apply across different industries and roles:
Problem-solving & crisis management: Whether handling cyber incidents, troubleshooting IT failures, or responding to emergencies as a firefighter, I excel in high-pressure situations that require quick thinking and effective decision-making.
Leadership & team management: As an IT Manager, I have led teams, coordinated with external partners, and ensured smooth collaboration to achieve critical goals. I create a productive and motivating work environment where teams align with the company’s vision.
Communication & training: I know how to simplify complex topics and make them understandable for different audiences. I regularly organize IT security training sessions for employees and foster open communication within teams.
Strategic thinking & project management: From modernizing IT infrastructure to managing cost reductions, I have experience in planning, executing, and delivering projects efficiently while keeping a long-term vision in mind.
Adaptability & continuous learning: Coming to a new country, learning new languages, and working across different fields have made me highly adaptable. I stay up to date with the latest trends in cybersecurity, IT management, and business strategies.
Attention to detail & optimization: I focus on efficiency and continuous improvement, whether it's enhancing security, cutting unnecessary IT costs, or optimizing company operations.
What do I stand for ?
I stand for excellence, innovation, and teamwork. I believe in always doing my best and delivering high-quality results to stand out in any industry. This means constantly improving and keeping up with new technologies.
In a team, I value clear communication and honest feedback, especially when working on projects. This helps everyone stay on the same page and work towards shared success.
What drives me the most is knowing that my work makes a real impact and plays an important role in the company’s success.
What makes me different is the experience I gained at a young age, which has helped me handle challenges with confidence and maturity. I’m also always looking for ways to grow, improve, and adapt to future needs.
